DESCRIPTION:This event has been POSTPONED to January 3rd!\nThe Coastal Land Trust is seeking volunteers for a work day at the historic Reaves Chapel on Saturday\, January 3rd from 9 am to 11 am. Volunteers will clear paths and do maintenance on the historic Cedar Hill Cemetery as well as complete some landscaping and maintenance projects surrounding Reaves Chapel itself.\nAll volunteers will meet at Reaves Chapel\, 2024 Cedar Hill Road NE in Navassa\, Brunswick County\, NC. Both groups will be using hand tools to do maintenance\, trimming\, tree planting\, etc. All tools will be provided as well as gloves\, snacks\, and water. Volunteers may bring their own tools if they prefer.\nThere will be bathroom access at the Chapel. For those working in the cemetery\, there is not immediate bathroom access. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, December 20 for a Winter Bird Hike at Everett Creek Preserve in Onslow County from 7 am – 9 am. Enjoy strolling and birdwatching for about 1.5 miles on this beautiful preserve. Binoculars are Bring Your Own and we will have one Sibley field guide on hand. You are welcome to bring your own as well! We may see red-shouldered hawks\, warblers\, great blue herons\, cardinals\, and more! \nOnce the hike adjourns at 9 am\, the preserve becomes open for self-guided hiking as part of our monthly Open Hike Days until 3 pm.
