Masonboro Island Excursion
June 21 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
As a thank you for your generous support for the Coastal Land Trust, we invite you to join us for a Masonboro Island Excursion!
Departing from the Carolina Beach Marina on Saturday, June 21st at 10:00 am, this outing will include a scenic 30-minute boat ride through the Intracoastal Waterway with beautiful views of Carolina Beach. Upon arrival, we’ll spend about two hours exploring Masonboro Island – a protected barrier island known for its incredible biodiversity and coastal ecosystems.
Guided by educators from Carolina Ocean Studies, the excursion will include a walking tour on the island, highlighting the unique species and natural dynamics that make Masonboro special. For those who prefer not to walk on the beach or are unable to, programming will also be offered onboard the boat during the island visit.
After the tour, we’ll enjoy the return ride to Carolina Beach, taking in more of the stunning coastal landscape. We expect to return by 1:00 pm.
Please note that the boat is not ADA accessible, and the tour will include walking for approximately 1 mile on the beach.
Location and parking: Meet at 100 Carl Winner Dr. There are a few metered public parking lots available located around the marina, so please plan to arrive early to secure your spot.
We’d love to have you join us for this engaging and educational experience! If you have any questions about the event, please contact Eric Vreeland at either (910) 726-3006 or Eric@CoastalLandTrust.org.
