Elizabeth Colhoun, Stewardship & Education Specialist with the NC Coastal Reserve will present “Turtles of Masonboro Island Reserve”
She’ll give a brief overview of the turtle species that can be found on Masonboro (diamondback terrapins, loggerhead sea turtles, green sea turtles, leatherbacks) then provide a virtual field trip that walks through a day in the life of a sea turtle monitor on Masonboro Island Reserve.

The presentation will include a sea turtle nesting update for the 2021 season and new research projects being conducted to study the diamondback terrapin population at Masonboro Island.
