Project Description

EV Henwood

This 174 acre preserve in Brunswick County is owned and managed by UNC Wilmington (UNCW). In 2005, at the request of the late Mr. Troy Henry (former owner), 64 acres of the property was placed under a conservation agreement with the Coastal Land Trust, in partnership with UNCW. The nature park’s name was derived from a combination of the names “Evans” and “Henry” which are Mr. Henry’s maternal and paternal family names. Its pronunciation sounds like “heaven-wood”.
