The North Carolina Coastal Land Trust is pleased to announce its accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission has been renewed! The Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs to ensure organizational operations are conducted in the most responsible manner possible.

Accredited land trusts across the country are held accountable to the highest ethics and best practice standards – and we are proud to be among these 450 distinguished organizations. This is the Coastal Land Trust’s second time completing the renewal process, which began last year with a public comment period along with a rigorous application process.

You can count on the Coastal Land Trust to demonstrate fiscal accountability, strong organizational leadership, sound transactions, and lasting stewardship of the conserved lands along the NC coast.

“Renewing our accreditation shows NC Coastal Land Trust’s ongoing commitment to permanent land conservation along the coast of North Carolina.” said Harrison Marks, Executive Director. “We are a stronger organization than ever for having gone through the rigorous accreditation renewal process. Our strength means special places – such as Latham-Whitehurst Nature Park, Springer’s Point Preserve, and the Stanley Rehder Carnivorous Plant Garden – will be protected forever, making our coast an even greater place for now and in the future.”

Accredited land trusts are making sure that the places we love today will be loved by generations to come. Thank you for entrusting us with this honor.
